A study was conducted in HDF to select the best way of managing urban waste on the basis of economical, financial and environmental viability. This study proposes the reuse of this waste since this could lead to saving in financial obligations for the waste producers on the private level especially once fees are imposed as well as on the social level via saving in landfill, natural resources pollution and degradation and increase in health environmental standards. Two main scenarios (sorting versus no sorting) with sub scenarios (with & without fees imposed on waste disposal) are developed in this study. Estimated annual net revenues and estimated NPY and BCR are used to compare among the different stated scenarios to determine the level of the recaptured investment and operation costs and to rank the degree of feasibility among the different scenarios proposed. The scenario where sorting is being done, fees are imposed on waste disposal and the biodegradable waste is given for free as feed deems to be the most feasible since it decreases the financial burden on HDF.
